The SonicSolutions® transducer, submerged just beneath the surface, is programmed to generate ultrasonic waves that inhibit the growth and spread of algae.

The SonicSolutions Algae Control device emits ultra sonic waves to kill filamentous and blue-green algae in lakes and ponds, pools, water treatment plants and in irrigation ponds. Since the device is always in the water, it is working 24 hours a day, seven days a week to eliminate the algae in your pond. Plus, it is environmentally safe, animal safe and requires very little maintenance. Under most circumstances, you will notice a significant change to the algae bloom within the first two weeks. However, in a pond or lake that is thick with algae and/or high nutrients, a complete kill may take as long as 5 weeks.

The SS 500 will control algae in ponds and lakes up to 3 surface acres. Conversely, the smaller SS 400 will control algae in ponds up to1½ acres in size. These ranges are dependent on several environmental conditions such as nutrient loading in the pond and algae coverage. On lakes larger than 3 acres, several units can be installed to control the algae. When installing your SonicSolutions, the unit needs to be placed as close to the pond edge as possible due to the fact that the ultrasonic waves are only emitted at the front of the unit. The SonicSolutions device uses "line of sight" technology. Ultrasonic sound waves will not go around corners or navigate around islands that may be in your pond. However, under circumstances where more than one unit is needed, the units can be placed at opposite ends of the lake or can be tied together facing opposite directions. We recommend you unplug your SonicSolutions at least every 30 days to clean the face of the transducer off.
