JOHN M. WILSON JR.
John holds a degree in Computer Science and a focus of study in Business & Marketing from Cleveland State University. His passion for lakes and ponds began in 1983, when he began working for the small family company that would one day become AQUA DOC. In 1989 John purchased the company from founder William P. Cloonan and has grown AQUA DOC into the industry leader it is today. To this day, John’s hands-on involvement with his company has not changed and he can still be found on the many lakes and ponds AQUA DOC manages and meeting with clients.
John and the AQUA DOC Team have been recognized by the Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50 for eight consecutive years as one of Lake and Geauga County’s fastest growing companies and Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Management’s Weatherhead 100 as one of the fastest growing companies in the State of Ohio. John is an active member of NALMS; North American Lake Management Society, MAPMS; Midwest Aquatic Plant Management Society, CAI; Community Associations Institute, OLMS; Ohio Lake Management Society, APMS; Aquatic Plant Management Society, AERF; Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Foundation, and RISE; Responsibility for Sound Environment.
When John is not out on the waters, he is spending quality time with his wife of thirty-four years, Jeanine and their two children, Maddie and Johnny III. John’s hobbies include playing hockey and baseball, and can often be found attending sporting events from the local Kirtland High School football game to the World Series.
Director of Business Development
Brad Raum joined the AQUA DOC family in 2017 following a 35-year career in the healthcare industry and brings with him an extensive background in business development, communications and strategic planning. During his time in the medical industry, he worked at several hospitals including The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals Portage Medical Center. Most recently, as V.P. of Business Development at UH Portage Medical Center, he oversaw marketing, planning, business development and 200 employees at nine locations. Brad holds an undergraduate business degree from Hiram College and a MBA in Business Systems Management from Baldwin-Wallace College. In addition, Brad is a U.S.M.C. veteran and served on several boards including the Streetsboro Chamber of Commerce, The Red Cross of Medina, Portage and Summit Counties, and the Portage Animal Protective League.
Brad’s many hobbies include fishing, kayaking, scuba diving and high-performance driving instruction.
V.P. Corporate Sales
Dave is a Rutgers University grad with a degree Landscape and Turf Management. Dave worked within the golf course industry for ten years before joining the AQUA DOC team in 2007. His knowledge, experience, and management expertise have been invaluable to AQUA DOC and within four years Dave promoted to Director of Branch Operations. An avid sports fan, Dave will attend events whenever possible. Dave is happily married with a young family of three children.
V.P. Corporate Operations
Heath has been a valued member of the AQUA DOC team for twenty years. While obtaining his Biology degree at Bowling Green University, Heath had the opportunity to study at the Gulf Coast Research Lab in Ocean Springs, Mississippi where his passion for aquatics emerged. He shares his passion and vast knowledge with all AQUA DOC team members by developing and teaching AQUA DOC University. AQUA DOC U is a yearly, multi-leveled set of courses aimed at growing the skills and expertise of all AQUA DOC Aquatic Specialists and support staff. As General Manager, Heath oversees the AQUA DOC pond management programs from chemistries to customer service. Heath is a licensed scuba diver, a skill he utilizes in his profession and free-time diving in waters from Ohio to the Caribbean.
Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications
Kelley has been a member of the AQUA DOC team since 2000. As Director of Corporate Communications, Kelley is focused on building excellent customer relationships and communicating AQUA DOC’s dedication to being stewards of our waters to both current and future clients. Kelley’s commitment to fostering communication isn’t exclusively external however. She believes that internal communication is vital to building trust within an organization. Her continuing efforts to build relationships with employees and leading the communication team has given AQUA DOC the edge in superior customer service. As Director of Marketing, Kelley has developed and implemented AQUA DOC's Brand throughout. She is continuously strategizing new marketing campaigns, events, digital marketing and PR.
Outside of work, Kelley enjoys spending time with family and friends. With all of her accomplishments, however, Kelley still claims her son Anthony as her greatest. She is also a big animal lover with two dogs of her own, Chico and Max.
Director of Finance and Human Resources
Cynthia joined the AQUA DOC team in 2006. With a focus on finance and human resources, Cynthia manages the financial administration team as well as employee payroll and benefit packages. Cynthia also has extensive knowledge of AQUA DOC’s retail products and enjoys helping customers choose the right size pump or chemistry to keep their watergardens and ponds clean and healthy. When away from work, Cynthia loves being with her family and beloved dogs Frankee and Moxiee, and maintaining her own backyard watergarden.
Corporate Client Relations Manager
Denise Simcox joined AQUA DOC in early 2019. She earned her Bachelors of Business Management, with honors, from Indiana Wesleyan. With her bubbly, outgoing personality, she has developed her place here at AQUA DOC Lake & Pond Management. Building and maintaining relationships comes natural to Denise.
Before joining the AQUA DOC family, Denise served as Vice President of Lyman Health Care Solutions LLC. Partnering with the President, she assisted customers with marketing strategies, advertising, branding evaluation and website review. Prior to her career at Lyman, Denise was the Marketing Director for Capio Partners, and collaborated with the Chief Healthcare Strategy Officer to create and manage integrated challenges. Denise got her start at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she gained her knowledge in overall operations, clinical operations, health information management and revenue cycle management.
Outside of her business life, Denise enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her beloved cockapoo, Winston.
CARTER L. BAILEY
Originally from Upstate New York, Carter grew up knowing he wanted to work with freshwater in a way that could help people. This desire led him to study environmental sciences, earning his BS in Environmental Science with a concentration in Watershed Hydrology from State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a MS in Lake Management from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. After receiving his masters, Carter joined AQUA DOC in 2013 and moved to Ohio. Carter believes that in the freshwater environment, lake managers bridge the gap between stakeholders and the scientific community. His position at AQUA DOC allows him to bridge that gap and fulfill his desire to help people by working with citizens, citizen groups, and government agencies to maximize their freshwater resources. In his free time, Carter enjoys hiking, mountain biking, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling.
Corporate Director of Fountains and Aeration
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Dave joined the AQUA DOC team in 2016. His passion for customer service and desire to succeed has been a perfect addition for growth of the AQUA DOC team. Dave’s “lead by example” approach has led to the position of Corporate Director where he oversees the Fountain & Aeration divisions at all AQUA DOC locations. Dave is happily married to his wife Rachel and has four children, Tyler, Nolee, Nate and Ramona. He enjoys coaching, camping, live music, sporting events and travelling with his family and friends.
Manager of Fountain and Aeration Technology
Bryan joined AQUA DOC in 2007. His prior experience working with pump technology led him to his position as Fountain and Aeration Division Manager where he oversees maintenance, repairs, installations, inventory control, job estimating, and customer service. To keep himself current on the ever changing and improving technology, Bryan maintains certifications in training and authorized maintenance for all major manufacturers including AquaMaster, Kasco, Otterbine, Aqua Control, Airmax, Vertex, and The Power House. He shares his knowledge with his team members to ensure they have the certifications and training they require to properly install and maintain our customer’s equipment. Bryan’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, RC cars, and model railroads.
Administrative Manager of Fountains and Aeration
Cassie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University, and has several years’ experience on the administrative and customer service side of business. Originally from New Jersey, Cassie came to AQUA DOC in 2017 and quickly excelled both as a member of Administration Team and Retail Division. Cassie found her passion in her current role as Administrative Manager of Fountains and Aeration which allows her to more effectively facilitate the communication between our fountain specialists and the customer, while also verifying efficient production and product estimates. When she’s not at work, Cassie enjoys being outdoors, particularly kayaking, and likes spending time with her husband and two chihuahuas, Olive and Francis.
Watergarden Division Manager
Brad came to Aqua Doc in March of 2017 while searching for a new career. After graduating from Kent State University with a Master’s Degree in Sport and Recreation Management and having a passion for the outdoors, he knew Aqua Doc would be a place he would fit right in. As the Watergarden Division Manager, Brad is responsible for the day to day operations and growth of the division. He is always eager to tackle new challenges and projects that come his way. In his spare time, you can find him outside hiking and camping with his dog every chance he gets.
Watergarden Division Assistant Sales Manager
Sarah joined the AQUA DOC team in 2017 after working at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Biology from Westminster College and a Master’s in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Cleveland State. Sarah’s passion for the environment has given her the edge to succeed as Watergarden Division Assistant Sales Manager. Her knowledge not only has added to the growth of her team, but has given her the advantage to develop the entire division. While Sarah is not at work, she occasionally freelances as a photographer and makeup artist, and she enjoys traveling, concerts, and her chihuahua, Pickles.
Watergarden Division Assistant Production Manager
Laura holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Notre Dame College, and brings her experience working for the Geauga Parks to her role at AQUA DOC. Laura has excelled in streamlining the team as the Assistant Production Manager for the Watergardens Division. When she isn’t beautifying water features, Laura is meeting with customers and assisting the sales team. In her free time, Laura enjoys all types of outdoor activities, spending time with friends, and caring for her bearded dragon and horses.
Columbus Branch Manager
Cory joined the AQUA DOC team in February 2015 while completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management from the Ohio State University. He began his career with AQUA DOC as an aquatic specialist managing waters from Xenia to Zanesville and now oversees the routing and production of all Columbus routes as well. Prior to joining AQUA DOC, Cory gained fisheries experience with the Ohio EPA sorting twenty plus species a day and is skilled at both aquatic and terrestrial vegetation identification. Cory is also an avid volunteer for environmental issues including working with the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW) to manage urban forests of central Ohio. His passion for a clean watershed led to his pursuit of a career in aquatics and gains great personal satisfaction from helping someone enjoy their body of water again.
Cincinnati Branch Manager
Jared joined the AQUA DOC team in 2012 after graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Civil and Environmental Engineering degree. Jared’s love of the water led him to his career with AQUA DOC and becoming a licensed applicator. As production manager, Jared not only manages his customer’s ponds, but oversees routing and scheduling for the Cincinnati division. When not spending time with wife and young son, Jared enjoys fishing and kayaking and is an active member of The Hobie Kayak Fishing Team.
Atlanta Branch Manager
Joe is a Reinhardt University graduate with a Bachelor’s in Biology. Joe grew up raising cattle, hay farming, and managing 1200 acres of leased white-tailed deer and wild turkey hunting lands. His upbringing fostered his passion for the outdoors and natural resource conservation. This love nature led him to his career and made him a valuable addition to our Atlanta team. In his free-time Joe enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and off-road trail riding.
Atlanta Assistant Branch Manager
Shane Joined AQUA DOC in mid-2017. After serving in the United States Air Force, he received his Bachelor’s in Science for Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. He began his AQUA DOC career working with fountain and aeration system installations and repairs. His talents and leadership skills soon led him to his current position as Assistant Manager alongside of his Fountain Division duties. Shane is an avid outdoorsman and spends his free time off-roading, and bow fishing with his wife.
Toledo Branch Manager
Zak joined AQUA DOC in 2014. Along with maintaining his customers’ ponds he also does scheduling and personally conducts consultations throughout Northwest Ohio on algal and plant management strategies. He has a degree in Fish Management and Aquaculture Sciences from Hocking College. Zak has prior field experience studying and testing waters in Canada and the Ohio River. He has also worked with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Zak has been an avid outdoorsman since he was very young. His hobbies include fishing, kayaking, camping, and hiking.
Brad Harris joins AQUA DOC as the Regional Manager of our new office in the Carolinas. He brings with him 22 years of experience in the natural resource, landscape, lake, recreational and stormwater pond management fields. In 2008, Brad obtained his Stormwater Maintenance and Inspection Certification and has been managing stormwater ponds, lakes and recreational ponds ever since. He is extremely driven, and takes a scientific and data driven approach when assessing, identifying, and addressing the many challenges pond and lake owners will face. Brad's passion is aquatics and being outdoors. Outside of work he enjoys hiking, and regularly boats on Lake Gaston where his grandfather built a family home in 1986. He also enjoys spending time with his amazing wife, and their 2 children.
